IZAKI

In the artist's words

In the lands of the Basque Country live extraordinary beings. Creatures that, generation after generation, have nourished our imagination and form part of a unique mythological legacy.
IZAKI was born to give them life.

We create handcrafted pieces inspired by Basque mythology, dedicating time and care to every detail. Beings that take shape through manual labor, hand-painted and individually numbered.

No two are alike.

Each one has its own identity.

Each being has its story.

Each piece its character.

And each creation is a small part of us.

This is IZAKI.

Welcome to IZAKI.

* The idea had been in my head for some time. On February 22, 2025, Aritza Bergara presented his book, Izena duen guztia eman da (All of Us Becomes).

Upon discovering his work—his illustrations, dedication, and love—I knew that, if he allowed me, I would base the creation of my first being on his work.

Since chance doesn't exist, while searching for a way to create reproductions, I met Toni Galán, a sculptor with a long tradition spanning generations. He liked the project, we clicked immediately, and he got involved. He created the first clay piece, and from there, the mold. Using the mold, I make the reproductions and paint them by hand, one by one. Each piece has its own character. No two are alike. They become a part of me. They are all numbered.
